Temporal Symphony in the Coral Lagoon

This is an ecological artwork made with the concept of the rich time at the Coral Lagoon, where the six typical tropical fishes tell the time of the day. The dial of this work, which uses a coral reef in a rich ecosystem as a clock, has 10-minute increments instead of 15-minute increments. This unit is one interpretation of the 60-decimal system, which has been used in mathematics and astronomy since ancient Babylon. The ten-minute unit symbolizes an equal and sustainable lifestyle, allowing for a quicker and even division of harvests and crops among many people.

This is an Ecological Artwork by Naoko Otsuka from her series "Designing a New Generation of Marine Life."
